Gifts

Gifts allow users to recognise each other's accomplishments through virtual badges and points. They create a "thank you economy" based on peer-to-peer recognition, providing satisfaction to both the sender and recipient.

How gifts work

Gifts consist of two main components:

  1. Gift badges - Visual representations that users can send to each other
  2. Messages - Words of encouragement or praise that accompany the gift (configured through gift activities)

Users can also transfer points as gifts if you've enabled this feature. When User A sends points to User B:

  • The specified number of points is deducted from User A's balance
  • The same number of points is added to User B's balance

Note: Points gifting affects all point-based mechanics including leaderboards, KPIs and levels.
